Las Vegas, Nevada (Nov. 1 to 4, 2016): The 2016 SEMA Show featured over 2,400 exhibiting manufacturing companies, over 50,000 buyers and over 3,000 media representing automotive outlets in 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space within the LVCC and neighboring Westgate Hotel. This was alongside the annual AAPEX Show which showcases aftermarket companies and products at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The annual SEMA Show began this year on the early Tuesday morning, Nov. 1, 2016, for the SEMA Award Press Conference at the Westgate Hotel beside the LVCC. Durring this annual breakfast prior to the doors opening for the exhibits, the industry's hottest new products was announced in 16 categories and more improtantly, the annual SEMA Award winners representing 5 new categories: Hottes Truck, 4x4/SUV, Sedan, Coupe and Hatch. SEMA President and CEO Mr. Christopher Kersting presented the SEMA Awards and VIPs from the winning companies were on hand to accept the awards respectively at the podium. Mr. Magnus Walker, renowned British Porsche enthusiast and restorer, was on hand to assist in the master ceremonies during the breakfast press conference. Out of more than 3,000 annual new products, judges had the very difficult task of sorting out the winners for the 16 new categories in 2016: 1. Collision Repair & Refinish Product: Drow Technologies, Inc and Remote Assisted Programming (RAP); 2. Engineered New Product: Any Level Lift with Any Level Lift; 3. Exterior Accessory Product: FX Products, TrailFX 3.5 inch Bull Bar with Double Row LED Light Bar; 4. Interior Accessory Product: Lokar, Inc. with Muscle Car Shifter Knob Adapter; 5. Merchandising Display: Putco, Inc. wiht Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar POP Display; 6. Mobile Electronics Product: Pearl Automation Inc., with RearVision; 7. Off-Road/4-Wheel Product: Iron Cross Automotive with Iron Cross Step; 8. Packaging Desing: Pearl Automation Inc., with RearVision; 9. Performance Racing Product: COMP Performance Group with COMP Cams XD-A Adjustable Pushrods for GM LS Engines; 10. Performance Street Product: COMP Performance Group, COMP Cams SPR Radius Tip Rocker Arms for GM LS1 and LS3 Engines (Needle Bearing and Bushed Versions); 11. Powersports Products: RIGID with Chase; 12. Street Rod/Custom Car Product: Ididit LLC with '40 Ford Steering Column; 13. Tire and Related Product: Continental Tire with Continental Tire TerrainContact A/T; 14. Tools and Equipment Product: withTrailerLegs; 15. Van/Pickup/Sports-Utility Product: Truck Hero with Extang, TruXedo, BedRug, UnderCover, Advantage, Retrax, BAK Industries, A.R.E. and BedTred Ultral; and finally, 16. Wheel and Related Product: BBS of America, Inc. with the BBS Forged Magnesium Porsche GT3-RS Wheel. The SEMA Award winners were: 1. HOTTEST COUPE: Ford Mustang; 2. HOTTEST SEDAN: Dodge Charger; 3. HOTTEST HATCH: Ford Focus; 4. HOTTEST 4x4/SUV: Jeep Wrangler; 5. HOTTEST TRUCK: Ford F-Series. As the show opened its doors on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, we see some of the highlight of the show and examples are given with the following text: 1. KUHL Racing from Nagoya, Japan shipped two of their most eye-catching displays with body etching: first was a silver painted Subaru WRX STi and second was a gold painted Nissan GT-R; 2. Ford's booth showcased the 2017 Ford Mustang GT and a special order car was displayed shipped from Wisconsin which was made entirely out of carbon fiber inside and out to reduce weight, minimize aerodynamic drag and enhance downforce; 3. Magnaflow booth showcased the original "Batmobile" from the Warner Brother's movie "Batman vs. Superman" earlier in 2016; 4. Hyundai introduced its 2017 Gurnade Veloster Concept Vehicle at its booth with an eye-catching maroon exterior; 5. Honda introduced its 2017 Civic Type R Prototype with a stunning gun-metal exteriror. 6. And finally, a group of exotic high horsepower electric vehicles ranging from Ferrari La Ferrari and the Porsche Sypder 918 were on display at various booths.
